Trump is willfully ignorant and a compulsive liar. He is cruel, morally unprincipled, and destructive of democratic institutions, whether the written rule of law or the unwritten but vital norms of civil behavior in a democratic republic.
Lest there be any mistake, that is not an argument. It is the conclusion of an argument and my ground truth going forward. Almost four years of observation is congruent with the observations of those who have known him for decades: he is what he is and what he is is what he’s always been.
If someone wants to argue for Trump’s knowledge of government, reputation for honesty, compassion towards others and guided by his inner moral integrity then have at it - but not with me.
