Profiles in Something Less Than Courage

"This is not the time to jump to some conclusion not knowing the full facts," Ryan said when asked whether law enforcement should be able to confiscate weapons from someone who's exhibited signs of mental illness. "We've got a lot more information we need to know."

"I understand. I really do. You read in the newspaper that they used a certain kind of gun and therefore let's make it harder to get those kinds of guns. I don't have some sort of de facto religious objection to that or some ideological commitment to that, per se," [Marco Rubio,] the Florida Republican said.

"If we do something, it should be something that works. And the struggle up to this point has been that most of the proposals that have been offered would not have prevented, not just yesterday's tragedy, but any of those in recent history," Rubio added. "Just because these proposals would not have prevented these does not mean that we therefore raise our hands and say, 'Therefore, there's nothing we can do.'"

Gov. Scott, who is considering a Senate run this year, waved off a question about changing gun and mental health laws after yet another school shooting. "There's a time to continue to have these conversations about how through law enforcement, how through mental illness funding that we make sure that people are safe," he said.
-THIS IS NOT COURAGE.

"It is with Great sadness that our Football Family has learned about the death of Aaron Feis. He was our Assistant Football Coach and security guard," Marjory Stoneman football said on Twitter. "He selflessly shielded students from the shooter when he was shot. He died a hero and he will forever be in our hearts and memories."
