To Greg Ritter's Alleged Victim and Family

First, I understand that in all likelihood you'll never read this, so we can consider this my prayer to God in Christ crucified.

I apologize for referring to you as the "alleged victim" because, as the most vulnerable person in your relationship with Greg Ritter, your testimony should be favored.

I knew Greg Ritter. Greg Ritter, at his best, would have wanted you to have a good, happy and productive life.

When Greg Ritter took his life a week or so ago, he was not at his best. He certainly didn't act on your behalf.

He was in a dark hole and didn't know how to get out, which is why most suicides occur.

People don't commit suicide because they want to be dead - they commit suicide because they want the pain to stop.

And I'm sorry that Greg Ritter put his very significant troubles over your peace of mind and future happiness.

But please, be assured, that whatever the facts of the situation, Greg Ritter would be very sorry for any harm he had created and would want you to have a wonderful life.
